On the 8th December 2020, Pope Francis declared that new year would be dedicated to Saint Joseph. Pope Pius IX declared him patron and protector of the universal family of the Church. Pope Francis said that each of us can discover in Joseph – the man who goes unnoticed , a daily discreet and hidden presence – an intercessor, a support and a guide in times of trouble. Saint Joseph reminds us that those who appear hidden or in the shadows can play an incomparable role in the history of salvation.
Our Church of the Immaculate Conception houses a special painting of Saint Joseph by the artist Patsy Reel. We place all our families under the protection of Saint Joseph this year. Saint Joseph, pray for all of us.
