On the occasion of the 350 anniversary of the appointment of Oliver Plunkett as Archbishop of Armagh, the Knights of Saint Columbanus brought his relics to our parish this past weekend. Saint Oliver, a native of our diocese in Loughcrew near Oldcastle
was canonised by Pope Paul V1 in 1975. Pope Paul described Oliver Plunkett as someone for the entire world who was an outstanding and authentic example of the love of Christ. May Saint Oliver Plunkett a man of outstanding courage, simple sanctity, immense
wisdom and constant hope intercede and pray for all of us.
