This is a scheme where volunteers are dispatched by the HSE National Ambulance Service to 999/112 calls for chest pain, suspected stroke, cardiac arrest and choking to provide assistance while an ambulance is en route. This Responder Group has been operational 5 months on a part time pilot basis, being dispatched on average once per week, and covers to an area approx 2 miles from Kingscourt town including large portion of Magheracloone and Lough An Leagh, most of the Kingscourt-Shercock road, parts of the Kingscourt-Bailieboro Road and the areas in between. A lot of calls to date have been in the wider Magheracloone area.
