The parish of Kingscourt was delighted to welcome Fr. Noel O’Regan of the Society of African Missions in Cork as the guest speaker at Masses this past weekend. The SMA Mission was founded in France in 1856 and when it was established in Ireland in 1878 it was the first exclusively Missionary congregation to send out missionaries from Ireland. Fr. Noel has worked all his life in various dioceses and ministries in Zambia. The congregation currently have 900 members and 270 seminarians. We are asked to pray and support the work of the SMA’s at this time.
