Pictured are Brendan and Alacoque McMahon from Muff who were on a short visit to the Holy Land and took the opportunity to meet up with Fr. Gerry in the Galilee. During their short visit while there he was able to guide them around many of the holy sites.
They visited the Church of the Beatitudes, the Church of Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes, the Church of Peters Primacy, Capernaum, the first century boat at Ginnosar, the first century jewish fishing village of Magdala with its beautiful new Church, Duc in Altum, to the town of Nazareth visiting the Church of the Annunciation and Saint Joseph’s Church, from there to the Church of Mount Tabor where Christ was transfigured, culminating with Mass in the Church in Cana of Galilee and the opportunity for Brendan and Alacoque to renew their marriage vows during this unique occasion. Brendan, Alacoque and Fr. Gerry are pictured after the Mass in Cana. Fr. Gerry’s retreat at Tabgha is the culmination of recent months and will draw his time of sabbatical to a close. He looks forward to returning home in the coming weeks.
