Sponsor a step:

The Kingscourt Stars GAA Club has part of their Development Plan undertook to rebuild the concrete terracing on the town side of O’Raghallaigh Park in October ’13. O’Raghallaigh Park was officially opened in 1951 and the originally terracing was completed prior to this date. At the time the work was completed by local labour, the terracing at the time was built with sand and cement mixed with shovels and hard labour. Sixty five years on the terracing needed replacing hence the new development. The total cost of this phase of work amounted to €26,000. The work was completed by Billy O’Connor, Kingscourt. To help defray the costs the club have undertaken to “ Sponsor the steps”. The costs of each step is €200. We have received a commitment from many of the local business & families to purchase a step. We have 56 steps in total with 10no Crush barriers to be fitted. The Club sourced the crush barriers from Casement Park, Belfast as part of the dismantling of the stadium prior to the new development of a new 38,000 all seater stadium.  People, families & business can purchase a step which is acknowledged by a sign on each step.
