Our parish was delighted to welcome The Woven into Memory Tapestry at our Masses in our parish this weekend. This tapestry designed and created by Frances Crowe was commissioned to honour the 75 anniversary of the martyrdom of seven Columban missionary priests during the Korean War. One of those martyrs is Fr. Jack O’Brien, a cousin of the Hegarty and Yorke families from our parish. This tapestry will be presented to the people of South Korea, in collaboration with The Columban Fathers at a special ceremony at The Irish Embassy in Seoul later this year. A very sincere thanks to Jacqueline Creaven who facilitated this historic event, and to the wonderful Hegarty and Yorke families of the parish who kindly participated at the memorial Mass.
