We would like to congratulate Fr. Tom McDonnell on this his Golden Jubilee (50th Anniversary of Ordination), we take this opportunity to thank him for his contribution, commitment and dedication to the Parish of Kingscourt and Missionary work over the years.
Fr Tom’s Ordination took place in our Church on the 14 April, 1971. It was a wonderful, memorable and blessed day for Fr Tom, his family, friends and parishioners.
On completing his secondary school education at St MacNissi’s College, Garron Tower in June 1964, Tom joined St Patrick’s Missionary Society, Kiltegan to study for the priesthood.
Following his ordination, Fr Tom spent over 35 years as a missionary in Africa, serving in Kenya, Southern Sudan, Rwanda and Uganda. In 2008, Fr Tom was elected to the Central Leadership Team of St Patrick’s Missionary Society and since then, he has been based in Kiltegan, Co Wicklow.
