KINGSCOURT PARISH UPDATE ON COVID -19 (Coronavirus)
Following a very clear directive from Bishop Tom, and with immediate effect from Thursday 12th March, 2020, all public Masses in the Diocese of Meath are suspended until further notice.
There will be no public Masses celebrated in Kingscourt, Muff or Corlea. This is mindful of public health in the context of today’s announcement from the Government.
In the current emerging situation, all are dispensed from the obligation to physically attend Sunday Mass. Our Weekend Masses will be broadcast and available, only on the Kingscourt parish webcam facilities, www.kingscourtparish.ie at 6p.m. on Saturdays and 11a.m. on Sundays. The voice of prayer should not be silent, therefore our three Churches will be open for private prayer each day.
Every Catholic is entitled to a dignified Christian burial. Attendance at Funeral Services and Masses should be limited to close relatives and must not exceed 100 attendees within the Church building.
Similarly, all Church weddings and baptisms may be celebrated on condition that the attendance in Church does not exceed 100 people.
It is hoped that the continued financial support of the very generous people of Kingscourt parish, which is so deeply appreciated, can continue.
In these difficult and uncertain times, let us remember each other in a simple daily prayer.
