The parish of Kingscourt was delighted to welcome Frances Black as a key note speaker at Masses this past weekend. Frances has a very successful career as a singer both with her family and as a solo career. In 2004 Frances qualified as an addiction counsellor working in the Rutland addiction Centre before establishing the Rise Foundation in 2009 which supports family members who have an addition problem. She was elected to Seanad Eireann in 2016. She spoke of her own story and began a conversation with the young people about the challenges of an addiction culture. She was warmly received by the congregation.
