Our parish held a special Mass on Sunday to mark the beginning of Catholic Schools Week. Our parish community gathered to celebrate the great traditions of our four excellent Catholic Schools at Corlea, Carrickleck, Muff and St. Joseph’s Kingscourt.
The theme of the week is Catholic Schools: Families of Faith.
The celebration acknowledged the tremendous contribution which our four parish Catholic schools make in the areas of the intellectual, moral, spiritual and physical dimensions of a child’s life, ensuring that the education of the child is in a totality and promoting the common good. The hardworking Chairpersons and their volunteer boards, along with the commitment of the Principals and the entire staff who always have the child as the central focus of their daily work was acknowledged. The role of Parents as the primary educators and the support of grandparents’, in addition to the engagement of the Parents Councils was also celebrated. Our parish schools continue to be inclusive, healthy and open and are wished every blessing during this week.
