You may have noticed that The Irish Catholic is running a Fáilte Pope Francis! competition for primary schools to celebrate Ireland hosting the World Meeting of Families next year.
We are asking children to write a short letter of welcome to Pope Francis, accompanied by a drawing of how they imagine his visit will look like. They could win 1st prize of €1,000; 2nd prize of €500, or 3rd prize of €250 for the school. Each winner will also receive an icon of the Holy Family, hand-crafted by Christians in Bethlehem, for their school Christmas tree or Sacred Space.
Some entries will be published.
The competition deadline is next Friday, November 24 but we want a broad geographical range of entries so we would still accept entries that are a few days late.
The competition is open to children aged 6-9 years old. They must include child’s name, age, class, school name and contact details.
Entries to: Fáilte Pope Francis competition, The Irish Catholic, 23 Merrion Square, Dublin 2.
