Centenary of Fatima

Our parish will mark the Centenary of Fatima apparitions on Saturday, 13th May at 6p.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt.It will be followed by a procession to the Fatima Shrine which was erected by Fr. Michael Marry in 1947. The Sicilian marble statue of Our Lady of Fatima was the gift of a parishioner. Fr. Marry also commissioned Evie Hone, who was one of the best artists working in stained glass in Ireland in  1947 to design a window to honour Our Lady of Fatima. This window was installed to the left of the high altar and  is of three panels; the Apparition of the Angel to the three children, The Apparition of the revolving sun and the apparition of Our Lady to Lucia.
