At our Masses this weekend we prayed for Fr.Peter O’Reilly whose anniversary took place at this time. Fr. Peter, with the wonderful parishioners of his day, erected our church in 1872 during difficult and challenging times. Following his death his mortal remains were interred in the church and on this Sunday three generations of the Rooney family unveiled a special memorial marking his place of rest. May Fr. Peter rest in God’s gentle embrace eternally.
